The Maldon Mud Race 2001
It's Boxing Day, it's cold, but in the spirit of who dares sinks.....
there is the Maldon Mud Race 2001.
And they are off across the river on the first leg of the course.
The leaders are well on their way, but it is a bit congested coming out of the water
A few of the leaders on the second leg are still standing up, but they are split now as the rest of the field are in churned mud.
The leaders have finished, the rest are taking to higher ground for the second leg. Quite a few get help from the stewards.
The stragglers crawl, slide, drag and get dragged down the final leg.
The last 2 finish.
All in a good cause though, the sponsored entrants and crowd donations went to a local hospice and Essex air ambulance.
